Touring Switzerland with Conny Janssen Danst

After having played 25 shows in our home country Holland, Meer Ruis, a contemporary dance piece by dance company Conny Janssen Danst, took us to Switzerland. We will be touring around for over 2 weeks, performing for the Steps Dance Festival. I have to say, Switzerland is an amazing country. The landscape with all its mountains, small villages and let’s not forget the largest waterfall of Europe (Rheinfall) is such a welcome experience, coming from Rotterdam. Which is a beautiful city with a lot of great architecture, but we don’t have a lot of nature at all… For some reason I keep thinking I’m in some sort of historical themepark! Especially all the palm trees high up in the mountains made it all a bit unreal. I’d like to call the land: Switzerworld;)

Furthermore songs by Apparat and the illegal Fiona Apple tracks (produced by John Brion) were a great soundtrack for the trip from Verscio (Italian speaking) to Schaffhausen (German speaking). Really would like to recommend Candile de la Calle by Apparat. Frans and I might go to see Apparat in concert here in Aarau.

Tonight we are performing the 2nd Meer Ruis (here called Rumors) at the Stadstheater in Schaffhausen and tomorrow morning we are off to Zurich for more shows! We did it! Frans and I have worked on the music for dance show “Meer Ruis” for a couple of weeks straight. From composing to rehearsing to the premiere shows. So far all shows were sold-out and the press was super positive! Just to give you an idea:

Conny Janssen Danst, one of Hollands most important modern dance companies, asked Ming’s Pretty Heroes to write and perform music for the upcoming dance tour “Meer Ruis“. Frans Verburg and Ming have been busy rearranging songs from the album Karma as well as composing new music. “Meer Ruis” will premiere february 24th in Korzo Theater in the Hague. Ming’s Pretty Heroes and Conny Janssen will be playing and dancing over 40 shows in Holland and Switzerland.
